Sexual Health

Sexual health refers to a state of physical, emotional, mental, and social well-being in relation to sexuality. It encompasses a range of aspects, including a person’s ability to have safe, fulfilling sexual experiences, understanding and managing one’s sexual relationships, and the capacity to make informed decisions about sexual practices. Sexual health involves the prevention and treatment of sexually transmitted infections (STIs), access to reproductive health services, education about sexual and reproductive rights, and the development of healthy sexual attitudes and behaviors. It recognizes that sexual health is influenced by various factors, including individual knowledge, cultural norms, and social contexts. Importantly, sexual health includes not only the absence of disease or dysfunction but also a positive and respectful approach to sexuality and sexual relationships.
